Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations & Deposits

How do I reserve a kitten?

The reservation process begins by joining our waiting list or reaching out directly. When a kitten becomes available that we feel is a great match for your family, we will be in touch. A deposit of 30% of the kitten’s purchase price is required to confirm a reservation.

What does the deposit cover?

The deposit secures your reservation and is applied toward the total purchase price of your kitten. A contract and applicable warranty information are provided at the time of reservation.

When is the remaining balance due?

An additional 30% of the full kitten price is required approximately one week before your kitten’s spay or neuter procedure. The remaining balance is settled prior to or at the time your kitten goes home, as outlined in your contract.

Is the deposit refundable?

Please refer to your contract for the specific terms applicable to your reservation. We are happy to answer any questions before you commit.

The Waiting List

How does the waiting list work?

Joining the waiting list is the first step for many families. We reach out to waiting-list families when kittens become available that may be a good match. Depending on the kitten category, we may invite families to a video call as part of the process.

What kitten categories are available?

We may have kittens available in categories such as Golden Shaded British Shorthair, Golden Point British Shorthair, British Longhair, Pet A Level, and Pet S Level. We will always be clear about what is currently available and what to expect.

Kitten Age & Development

How old are kittens when they go home?

Kittens are evaluated and reserved from around 3 to 4 months of age, and typically go home after their spay or neuter procedure and recovery period. The exact timing will be communicated clearly for each kitten.

How are kittens evaluated?

Each kitten is carefully evaluated as they mature, with attention to their eyes, nose, ears, mouth, bone structure, overall development, and other characteristics considered by Bella Vie. Pricing may reflect the kitten’s development and evaluation over time.

Vaccinations & Health

Are kittens vaccinated before going home?

Yes. Bella Vie kittens receive their first-year vaccinations before going home. Vaccination records are provided so your veterinarian can continue your kitten’s care.

Are kittens spayed or neutered?

Yes. All Bella Vie kittens are spayed or neutered before going home. Bella Vie oversees the procedure and cares for each kitten through recovery.

Updates

Will I receive updates while my kitten is growing?

Absolutely. Once your kitten is reserved, families typically receive updated photos and videos twice weekly, or at minimum once weekly. We love sharing milestones with the families waiting to bring their kitten home.

Delivery & Pickup

How does delivery work?

Bella Vie may personally deliver kittens at no additional charge within Montreal, the Greater Toronto Area, and Ottawa. For families outside these areas, pet cargo arrangements can be made when needed.

Insurance & Warranty

Does my kitten come with insurance?

Yes. Bella Vie provides complimentary pet insurance as described in your contract, giving families added peace of mind in the early weeks.

Is there a warranty?

A contract including applicable warranty information is provided at the time of reservation. Please review it carefully and feel free to ask any questions before you sign.
